About

Extension brings Minnesotans together to build a better future through University science-based knowledge, expertise, and training. The University of Minnesota Extension was started in 1909 to help farmers, producers, and those interested in agriculture to gain knowledge for improving their practices. Today, you can find local extension educators throughout the state of Minnesota. Our mission is to make a difference by connecting community needs and University resources to address critical issues in Minnesota. Extension research and education improves crop yields, animal health, farm productivity, and water conservation across Minnesota's 67,400 farms. As an agricultural extension educator, my job is to discover science-based solutions, deliver practical education, and engage Minnesotans to build a better future.
