"Building Character, Strengthening Community" We are truly fortunate to live in a community with such a long and rich tradition of people coming together, lending a hand, and supporting one another. From our earliest days, this community has placed great value in its peopleespecially our youth. Our Bluejacket name came because of the generosity of local businessmen, who in 1927 purchased blue jackets for the high school basketball team after their first district championship. Decades later, community members recognized the importance of teaching strong character traits to our young people in school. More recently, these words have become more than school traits they have become community traits. They live in our homes, our workplaces, our churches, our service clubs, and our daily interactions. They represent the very fabric of who we are as residents and neighbors. As we pause to reflect and look toward the days ahead, let us remain true to this legacy and the enduring spirit of care and community that defines who we are.
