On December 28, 2005, the Isanti Fire Department went through some changes, which resulted in the transformation into the Isanti Area Joint Operating Fire District, or the Isanti Fire District. The joint powers agreement has proven to be a great success. The Isanti Fire District is operated by each of the entities that are serviced. 6 Townships and the City of Isanti have 1 person from their council attend board meetings, where together they make the decisions that maintain our operations.
